POSITION: Environmental Biologists (Intermediate and Senior)
LOCATION: Burnaby

STATUS: Full time

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking Intermediate and Senior Environmental Biologists to assist in conducting environmental impact assessments, biological inventories, wildlife/vegetation/fish habitat assessments, environmental management planning, environmental monitoring and support a variety of contaminated sites and capital/infrastructure projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful candidates will be required to work with other members of the group and other Senior Managers at SLEI to assist in functions including:

- Project Management (fieldwork, reports, budget management and client communication)
- Preparation of work plans, estimates and proposals
- Business development and capacity building

QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology with a professional membership in good standing at the College of Applied Biologists in BC
- At least 5 to 8 years experience (including consulting experience) in British Columbia on oil and gas, pipeline-related and/or infrastructure/capital projects
- Experience in terrestrial ecology/aquatic/wildlife biology in British Columbia including meeting the requirements of federal and provincial regulatory agencies (e.g., DFO, BCEAA, CEAA, EMA)
- Experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments, preparation and management of Environmental Management Plans and Environmental Monitoring for construction/remediation projects
- Experience in regulatory/first nations/public consultations and meetings
- Experience in project management, data management and analysis, report preparation, client liaison and interdisciplinary team supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
